Limit Characters in a field

Hi,

I have a text field in form. I want to restrict the users to enter only 255 characters in that. If they try top enter more characters then i should give them a message only 255 characters are allowed. Can anyone help me on this.

You could put in an Input validation formula like:

@IsDocBeingSaved & @Length(@ThisValue) > 255;

     @Failure("You have entered " + @Trim(@Text(@Length(@ThisValue))) + " characters.  A maximum of 255 characters may be entered in this field.");

@Success

Simplest way:On the Field properties - 1e tab( Filed Info -tab) switch to Native OS style then on item Size switch width to Fixed (Characters).

No check for length needed.
