Hello,I’m trying to figure out the licensing requirements for a lotus notes rooms and resources system used on our intranet. If a user tries to book a room on this system, would they require a license? If so would it be a good way to cut down on licensing costs to have one staff who deals with booking requests. Legally would there be any issues with this approach? Appreciate any thoughts on this and where I could find this information on the IBM website.
In order to book a room, you have to be signed in as a notes user. If your users already have a notes username, you’re fine.
If you are talking about non-notes users, then you either have to create a notes user account for them (yes, a user license charge) or have a central person to do the bookings.
Thanks for replying, this is exactly what we are doing at the moment - we have a couple of users who book rooms for people working in their section. A lotus notes consultant raised concern over this so I’m trying to find out if this is legally acceptable.
