Libnotes.so not there

Suse Enterprise 9.0. I am trying to get a Domino server running.It worked well on a previous environment with CentOS, but causes some pain now on Suse.

I just downloaded the Domino Server 7.0 for Suse 8.0 and 9.0 so the versioning should be correct. But I still don’t get the server running after a normal installation.

I did not even change the defaults.

On startup, I get the error message, that in the directory /opt/ibm/lotus/notes/latest/linux the libnotes.so can’t be found, and, surprise, it is not there.

What is going wrong here ?

A missing path or what ? The same effect I had before with domino 6.5 (which was truly running on CentOS).

Can anybody help me ?

I had the same problem a couple months ago. If I remember correctly I had to do a Google search on ‘libnotes.so and Domino’ and look for the procedure to replace the missing file to the proper directory. Sorry, but I can’t remember the URL where I found the solution. I just know it wasn’t here or within IBM support and that the default paths are different between Domino 6.5 and Domino 7 for Linux.
