If I understand you correctly, sounds like you need a bit of background on LDAP. An LDAP search allows you to specify from where (base) in the hierarchy you want to start your search, how far down (scope), and a filter RFC 4515 (LDAP Search Filters)
I think your idea of “viewing” is simply a search where the search criteria are a broad as possible. e.g., The following ldapsearch gathers all Person and Group docs that the Domino LDAP serves up for “viewing”
ldapsearch -h yourhostname -b “” -s subtree “(|(objectclass=person)(objectclass=groupOfNames))”

In the default * - [All Servers] configuration document (in your primary Domino Directory) you can specify which Domino fields are included as LDAP attributes.
All entries are included if you make your LDAP queries without base DN
