LDAP schema from Domino to Tivoli Directory server

Hi there…i know that this is not the right forum to post Tivoli Q, bur it seems like the Tivoli people “only” have a little used newsgroup. Domino people are blessed with theese forums!

It could be, that some of You have tried to import the Domino ldap schema LDIF into ITDS? And if you have, what is the approach to do this? In the future i wan´t the Tivoli Directory Integrator to sync data from AD, Domino and ITDS. There must be a better way then mapping trough Directory Integrator?

Any ideas?

It could be, that some of You have tried to import the Domino ldap schema LDIF into ITDS? And if you have, what is the approach to do this?I think a colleague of mine experimented modifying ITDS’s schema so Domino directory objects can be stored there.

In the future i wan´t the Tivoli Directory Integrator to sync data from AD, Domino and ITDS. There must be a better way then mapping trough Directory Integrator?

Directory Integrator is the means that comes to my mind.

I’m curious as to what your end goal is.

Are you trying to create one physical LDAP repository of directory data?

If you don’t need to physically write the data to IDS, you could use Directory Integrator’s LDAP Event Handler to create a virtual LDAP server that dynamically joins information from Domino, AD, etc.

After you import/sync objects or attributes into ITDS from Domino and AD, how do envision using each of these three directory servers? Are you envisioning ITDS to be fed by Domino and AD, with ITDS’s consumers being read-only LDAP applications?

Would you try use Domino directory assistance to point to ITDS and remove your Person docs from the Domino Directory? (Admin or any app that writes to the Domino directory is out of luck here - you’d have to still have a hidden full Domino directory for these purposes)

Would some means of performing attribute-level joins (a single object’s attributes live in different repositories) across the three physical directories be preferable?

If Domino’s Directory Catalog task could take LDAP or LDIF as input and create an Extended Directory Catalog that is then served up by the Domino LDAP server, how does that compare with your ITDS scenario?
