I have 2 separate computers. Each with a server and a client. They are not in the same domain or organization. They can only ping eachother (pint 192.168.x.x)
The first server (‘yellow’) I want to make a as an LDAP server
The second one (‘blue’), I want to find usernames on yellow-server from my mail client (on blue) using LDAP-search to the the yellow-server.
Yellow: I have enabled LDAP (port 388 for not conflicting with AD), and started the LDAP task. This maschine is W2003 Server with AD
Blue: I have made a document in the Directory Assistance db, and written the name of this database in the server.doc and ‘set directory assistance information’ from the Action-menu. This maschine is XP Home
What more do I need? I have done what the admin-help says. Do you have a link to a ‘Hello World’ explanation on the internet.
