I have now had more than half-a-dozen cases of databases where the default frameset option does not hold. This problem fits the description of a problem that was a constant problem with version 5.
In each case, a particular computer will only open a database in the “as last viewed” form. Often, 2 database tabs appear, one of which points to the default frameset and the other to the “as last viewed” navigation pane, but not in every case. At least when 2 tabs show up, the user can manually go to the one for the frameset and manually choose a view.
In some cases I was able to fix the problem by deleting the cache.nsk file and deleting the workspace icon. This was a fix for the problem in version 5. In other cases that did not work.
The only other thing that worked was when it was a local replica with the problem, I sometimes was able to delete the local replica and create a new replica, with the result that the new replica launched correctly.
Resetting the launch option in the database properties did not work, not even once.
I have seen it on versions 6, 6.0.1 and 6.0.1 CF1. The computers OS’s are Windows 98SE, 2000 Pro and XP Pro. I have seen it happen to discussion databases and iNotes mail databases.
Any suggestions?
