Last modification time nsf file

My question is why each time the user open an archive by lotus note (nsf file saved locally on HDD user) the last modification date of the file change automatically, even if the user does not touch the mails on this nsf file (just read mails).
Why the latest date time modification change, without changing content and size of nsf file.

TSM is doing the right thing though, if the modified date changed, the file changed (even if the content did not), so it backs it up.

HI, thank you Rodrigo for your answer.
There is no solution in Lotus Domino or Lotus Notes, for do not change the view index of the nsf file?

I do not want to lose track version for nsf files!!! if the user open nsf file every day without change the content, I will have in 5 days 5 version!!!

In fact there is no configuration change on Domino/Notes side.

Regarding track version, you should use a Domino agent on your backup software. Using a properly agent, the “version” will be on Domino/Notes level.

Hello Redouane!

The first response of Carl is the key!

Always you open a database (locally or on the server), the view index is updated and, for OS, the file is changed.
You can validate it changing the properties of file (on OS side) defining it as “read only”. You cannot open it on Notes.
