"Large" strings

Hi !

I’m writing an agent that is generating an HTML report from a set of documents.

Almost everything is fine but the capacity of the “String” datatype (I’m doing a “Print reportData” at the end of the agent) : it is limited to 32KB.

I’ve tried to replace it by a “NotesRichTextItem” created from the “Body” item of a “Memo” document. It also seems to be truncated.

Does any have an idea on how it is possible to manipulate strings larger than 32K ?

I think u can use the NotesStream class. Take a look in the designer help for a code example.

The String datatype can hold up to 2 GB. I think what you’re seeing is a limitation of the Print statement.

I second the suggestion to use NotesStream.
