We had an internal user email approx. 25 other notes users a 40megabyte email attachment. We were able to go into the originators mailbox and see who she sent it to, however aside from opening each recipient’s mailbox on the server, would there be a command we can run to delete the file from the server altogether for those that have not already downloaded it? We have several users who are NOT on high speed or internal that dial-up and simply downloading a 40 megabyte email attachment would take them a better part of a day.
Is there something in the console if we know the file name to delete the attachment without going into each individual mailbox to remove the email?

I dont think there is but you could do this via a third party tool like helpsoftf’s Powertools.
There is also a free utility on Sandbox that you could use to remove the email and attachment. The tool was built for removing virus infected emails but you could use it for this as well. If you dont have access to all the mail files then you may have to run it from the server’s client.

Thanks! I’ll give this a shot, however it looks like it might take a while to scan through 1900+ mailboxes for the attachment. I was thinking if there was something I could run from the server console that would be easier, but I’ll give this a shot.
