Language Pack

Hi all,

I would like to know how works the language pack?

When I install the domino 6.5 (upgraded from 5.0.11) then I have to install LP (spanish),

the templates will be duplicated?

or add any other features into *.ntf?

Anybody can explain it?

Rgds.

From readme.txt LP:

Translated Templates and Installation Types

Language Pack Installer offers three installation

types or options; add, replace, and remove. Each

is described here.

Add language packs to the server

Installs language packs by merging translated

forms, views, and other design elements with

your existing language templates.

The Language Pack Installer also installs

additional files for Web enablement.

You can add more than one language pack to the

Domino server, and you can select which templates

to add to the server. By default, the Language

Pack Installer adds all translated templates

to the server.

Replace existing language packs

Overwrites the current language of the server with

the selected language pack. You can only replace

with one language pack at a time.

Remove language packs for the server

Uninstalls specified language packs from the

Domino server by removing the translated

forms, views, and other design elements

from your templates. You can only remove languages

added by previous installs of language pack

Installer.

But some templates you cannot add, only replace (pubnames.ntf)

If yes, How can I select the language?

Thanks.

Subject: RE: Language Pack

Whenever you create a new user, his mail DB is created from the mail template. If you add a LP to the server, the template is afterwards in all languages you chose during the LP installation. When you now take an existing db which inherits from the mail - Template and you say refresh /replace design, you will be asked for the language you want to inherit. I suppose it is the same when creating the Mail DB for a new user.
