I have a view with Row Height set to 9 and “Shrink rows to content” selected. I’m using it to accommodate a number of new-line-separated multiple value text fields (in addition to some single value text fields). Does anyone know of way to turn word-wrap OFF in such a scenario? The trouble is that the multiple-value columns need to line up with one another (like rows within a row), but if any one of the text fields stretches beyond the column width, the automatic word-wrap ruins the multiple-value line up. Also, I have essentially the same question with regard to tables. I can’t seem to find an answer in the Help pages. (This is being done in a Lotus client environment–NOT Web). Thanks.

A solution for your problem in tables might be found in the Tablewalker example in the Sandbox. You may be able to adapt this for your needs (see the alternate wrapping solution section on the form).
I do not personally know of a way to make Notes view columns stretch based on their content.

Thanks. I’ll take a look.
Subject: Limit the length displayed…
Just use @Left in the column formula to limit the length of the value displayed so that it doesn’t wrap.
@Left ( MyMultiValueField, 12 )
If you tweak the length correctly that should stop word-wrapping because none of the individual entries would be longer than the space allowed.
Hope that helps,

I see what you mean, but I was hoping there might be a way to do it without discarding any text. That is, if the text extends beyond the column width, there’d be no word wrap (the text would appear cut off), but the user could resize the column width to see the entire line. Not possible?

Hi Scott.
I’m being told the view case can be fixed by replacing spaces with ASCII 255 chars in the column formula.
Something like this :
@ReplaceSubstring (value; " "; @Char(255))
