We recently upgraded to Notes 6.5 at my company. I used to always save a copy of every e-mail that I sent. When I go into the 6.5 client, into File > Preferences > User Preferences > Mail, I change to “Always Keep A Copy” for saving sent mail.
However, this resets everyday! It seems like the Admin has chosen to have this default daily to “Always Prompt”. This is VERY annoying. I was burned a few years ago by a boss and because I never saved the sent mail, I took the hit. Since then, I save every e-mail that I send and/or receive.
Is there a way to modify the notes.ini file or something to make this stay on “Always Keep A Copy” no matter what?

In your Notes 6.5 client, click, File ===>>Preference,User Preference, then select mail, on the middle of the screen you should have a pull down menu or list , where you can set Semd mail to always keep a copy. This setting do not get change. Unless you want to.

If the Administrator has set a company Policy and set the Policy to override the desktop settings then it would be reset back to the Administrator setting without the user choosing to.
I am not sure if this can be overridden locally, you may just want to ask your administrator to adjust the policy to not override the Desktop or to excempt you from the Policy.
