JNI invocation through DSAPI

Hi,

I am experimenting with trying to invoke javacode from a custom DSAPI filter. The reason is that we need to find a way to utilize a security solution (Entegrity SecureAccess) that is a java-based authorization system (when is Domino going to support java for pluggable authentication solutions btw?).

When doing this from a stand alone program (not dsapi), i can invoce the JMV and run my custom classes in it, returning values back to native code. The problem is that when i try to do the same via DSAPI i get all kinds of strange errors. First of all, as the Domino JVM is already loaded, i get a subsequent error message regarding this (only one JVM allowed). I have tried to attach to the running instance as well, but get other kinds of errors. Trying to initialize an ordinary SUN 1.42 jvm also gives errors (this same code works perfectly when running stand alone).

Are there any “tricks” to invoke a JVM from within the Domino process space?

Kind regards

Daniel

Hello Martijn,

Will send him the question and hopefully he has the possibility to give some insights.

Thanks

I know you can load agents from the NotesAPI easily - would this help? You could load the agent with the java code (at least as a test)?

Hi Ian,

and thanks for your suggestion. I have tought about that as well (and will try it for sure). The only thing that bothers me with that is the speed issue (every invocation of the java agent requires the jvm to be setup and then teared down again). I think attaching to the (already running) jvm process would be quite quicker (that is my guess anyway).

Kind regards
