JDBC Connection Pooling servlet

Hello,

I’m trying to come up with a solution for having a Java Connection Pool for Domino, to access data from our other systems.

So that the pool would remain persistant (the whole reason for the pool) I have determined that it should be ran under Domino servlets.

I’m wondering if anyone else has done this, and what pool API they have used?

I tried Proxool (rebuilt in revision RC1 due to some incompatibilities with the 1.3 JVM). It works absolutely great, however, I cannot get it to work for Domino.

I placed the JAR file for Proxool under the /jvm/lib/ext folder, and verified that the java.policy does in fact give {java.home}/lib/ext/* the AllPermissions, but a java.lang.reflect.ReflectPermission AccessControlException is still thrown.

Does anyone know of a ConnectionPool api that will work for Domino Servlets, without too much hassel? Or, does anyone know how to get the java policies set right to allow Proxool to work?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Subject: JDBC Connection Pooling servlet

We are using an oracle jdbc connection pool and creating a singleton of the our own static pool class.

The oracle driver has classes for setting up cache and connection properties.

This is persistent and is now working fine. It keeps connections as long as the agent manager task runs. When we restart amgr it destroys current pool creates a new pool of connections.

Have read lots of threads that this should not work but it is running fine.
