I wonder if I’m missing something, but I can’t seem to enable any of the Javascript editor functions in Designer 8.5.1 when editing client-side javascript libraries.
Before upgrading to 8, I’d gotten used to using Eclipse with Aptana and the Domino Developer plugin for Aptana for editing javascript libraries. This gave me all sorts of goodies like validation, code templates, autoclosing of brackets, code folding, etc. In Designer 8.5, I can see and modify lots of options which seem to suggest I should be able to have these features, but I can only assume that the javascript library does not launch in the Javascript editor, as I don’t get any of these. It looks like what I’m getting at the moment is a 'Shared Library editor.
If I create a .js file in the Resources\Files section of a database and edit that in Desginer, I get most of these features except Validation, for some reason, which doesn’t give me any warnings, even if I deliberately put something in which should cause a warning.
Is there some way of associating the javascript Script Library element with the proper Javascript Editor? Or are line numbers and matching bracket highlighting the best I can hope for?
Thanks,
Emily.
