java.lang.NullPointerException errors

I added the widget catalog from OpenNTF and it installed 5 superfluous widget windows that I didn’t want. When I couldn’t remove them, I reinstalled r8.5. It got rid of the widgets but now, after the reinstallation, I keep getting the following error everytime I try to open a browser, email or calendar tab:

"An error has occurred. See error log for more details.

java.lang.NullPointerException"

Any clues what this is or how I can get rid of it?

Subject: seems to be coming from eclipse presentation

when i go to preferences–>general–>appearance and switch back to “styled presentation factory”, the problem goes away. why?
