Java import statement

I am trying to edit an existing Java agent. The server is 6.5 and so are other people’s clients. I have upgraded to 7.0.1.

When I try to recompile the agent with no actual changes I get JavaAgent.java:6: package com.lotus.xml does not exist.

When the other developer with the 6.5 designer client doeas the same thing it compiles properly.

Heres the import part of the agent:

import lotus.domino.*;

import java.net.*;

import java.io.*;

import java.util.*;

import com.lotus.xsl.*;

import com.lotus.xml.*;

import com.lotus.xml.xml4j2dom.*;

public class JavaAgent extends AgentBase {

public void NotesMain() {

Has there been a problem with my install of Notes 7 which is causing this problem? Do I need to add anything into path or classpath variables?

Subject: Java import statement

I discovered that my install didn’t have two jars (LotusXSL.jar and XML4j.jar) that were in the right hand pane (Current Agent Files) of the Edit Project settings. So I copied them from another PC and then tried again. But still no good.

When I click Refresh All in the Current Agent Files the paths go red, making it look like an error that the files couldn’t be found. But I can delete them and add them again from the left hand pane (Available java Files). And whenh i click refresh they once again go red.

Anyone able to help me understand how this is supposed to work?

The JDK was upgraded from 1.3 to 1.4.2 from Notes 6.5 to Notes 7 so this might be why since XML handling was added as a part of the JDK (JAXP). You should probably use JAXP to do your XML processing now.

Subject: RE: Java import statement

The problem seems to have been that Notes 7 says com.lotus.xml does not exist. But it works fine if I comment out that line cause it finds the next one okay (import com.lotus.xml.xml4j2dom.*;).

import lotus.domino.*;

import java.net.*;

import java.io.*;

import java.util.*;

import com.lotus.xsl.*;

//import com.lotus.xml.*;

import com.lotus.xml.xml4j2dom.*;

Can’t work out why & says it doesn’t exist and 6 says it does, but it works now.
