Hi,I’ve enabled Sametime in my Notes client by setting these parameters in my notes.ini
IM_DISABLED=1
IM_NO_SETUP=1
and put the sametime server in my location docuement.
But what is this supposed to do? I understood that a little icon would appear in my inbox against all the people who were currently online in sametime. Is this what is supposed to happen? I can’t see anything like this. How can I now use sametime on my notes client?

As well as the notes.ini parameters and location document you need to go to …
File → Preferences → User Preferences → Instant Messaging
and check “Show instant messaging status for names”
and this will put the sametime status icons in the Inbox view.

Yes – but only if the database is a Notes 6.5.x mail database. If the mail db is an older design, it won’t have the Sametime-awareness-enabled column. And there’s always the possibility that you’re using a locally-modified mail database design that has had the column removed even if the rest of the design is based on the 6.5 version. Check with your local admins.

And also assuming the other people are login on their sametime. If they are not login then no green icon.

On the status bar in the bottom right, are you connected and logged in to your Sametime server?

You want to remove these values from the Notes.ini
