We have installed 4 Admin LNotes French 8.5 clients on 7.02 english servers.
One user (me) has upgraded his mail file to 8.5 french templates, the other users not. They are running 7.02 mail file template.
Since the upgrade, Archiving policies didn’t work.
On the full migrated 8.5 client, clicking the + sign doesn’t expand the link to archive file. On mixed client, clicking the + sign shows the standard local archive name, not the one of the policy.
In the policy settings on the client all settings can be changed by user.
I followed the tests done in one of the previous post meaning that I’ve deleted all policies docs from $Policy views and make a LNotes copy of the names.nsf and replaced the existing one with it.
First of all my apologies for not getting back to you in a more timely manner. I lost track of your issue and that is why it’s critical for you to open a PMR for the incident ASAP so we can track better. I am the Development Manager for the Domino Administration Team and archiving falls under my team. We are currently not aware of any reported issues as you’ve described in this post… The problem description has some similarities to other archiving problems we’ve resolved recently, but it doesn’t match any of them enough to actually be one of these issues. If you can manipulate the archive settings, then it’s almost certainly not a permission problem. Likewise, it doesn’t seem probable that the replica ID in the archive profile is missing or incorrect. We’re doing some further checking in the mixed client/server version aspect of your report to see if we can reproduce the issue.
I’ve seen the same problem today (Domino and Notes 8.5). We have archive settings which forbid the usage of private settings. However, the settings did not work for one user. Saving the settings did not refresh them.
After some tries, I achieved to delete the local policies in the $Policies view in the personal names.nsf. After that and a restart, the policies worked at last.
Seems like the update of the archive settings is not working properly.
Subject: issue with archive policy on notes 8.5 clients
hi there.
we have been encountering the same problem after upgrading to notes 8.5 (a few 802 clients displayed the same problem as well). the users are not able to access their archived mails in Notes. clicking on the plus sign just changes it to a minus sign. ACL on archived mailfile is correct, archive policy is applied properly.
i wonder how this was actually done: ‘delete the local policies in the $Policies view in the personal names.nsf’. i’m thinking i can give this a try and maybe this will solve our archive problem too.
