Issue When Upgrading to 8.0.2

Hi,

We are experiencing a couple of problems when updating our 7.0.0 clients to 8.0.2

At the moment we are upgrading manually and we are using a multi user install.

Problem 1

We start the upgrade process by running C1K31EN.exe and following through the steps until complete. The only change to the default settings are that we have added the Single log on feature.

After the install we launch notes.exe and the program hangs. The only way round this that I have found so far is to rename the Data folder and launch again. Notes will then open and creates a new data folder for the user, but presents you with the set-up screen. We continue through set up and then copy in the users main files (bookmarks.nsf, names.nsf etc)

Has anyone had this problem / is there a fix for this?

Problem 2

Once Notes 8.0.2 is up and working we close the client and install Fixpack 1 + interim fix (Notes_802FP1CCH1_Standard_W32.exe)

This appears to install OK, but when we go to launch notes the system says “Cannot find notes.exe”. I have checked the Notes directory and both Notes.exe and nlnotes.exe are missing!

The only workaround for this so far that we have found is to re-install notes / fixpack.

Has anyone had this problem / is there a fix for this?

Thank you for you time,

Richard

Subject: Two separate issues

Issue #1 sounds like SPR# LKIM7JCMB6, fixed in CCH1 for 802, so that’s why you don’t see it in scenario 2.

Issue#2 maybe caused by Symantec AV. Check out this technote
