I would like to test on a regular basis response times between our domino smtp gateway and a standard web mail. The aim of that is gather stats and receive alerts during timeouts.
So, I’ve enabled ISpy, and I’ve created a “Mail Routing Event generator”, which is a mail probe.
The domino mail is received on the web mail, ok.
The sender is “ISpy on MY-SMTP-GATEWAY ISpy_on_MY-SMTP-GATEWAY@mydomain.com”, ok.
If I don’t do anything, I get the alert telling me that :
“The probe has failed for the following statistic: QOS.Mail.myemail@mydomain.com.ResponseTime [(event generator code)]”
Ok, so I need to do a kind of “answer”… but this mail address ISpy_on_MY-SMTP-GATEWAY@mydomain.com does not exist ! I’ve tried to create it on the ISpy mail-in db, I’ve tried to forward the mail to myself… nothing works…
Does anybody knows the procedure to enable a kind of automatic mail probe from work to the internet ?
