Is there any restriction for the length of notesName fields?

… you really should be using groups and roles for access control rather than individual usernames. The performance aspect becomes unworkable long before you approach the actual size limit of the field.

I believe the size limit is 32K bytes
This is true for all “summary” type (text) fields.
