We have migrated a database from an older version (R5) to the new server. Now when we have our employees attempt to attach documents to various files in the database (scanned, pdf, etc),through the intranet, they are unable to. Generally the files that are to be attached are relatively large, about 11 MB. Smaller files are able to be attached, their size is generally in the Kb size. We have checked quotas and found that the server imposes no size limitations to the database itself. Is there a configuration for attachments to files in the database?

I think the limit is the same as a rich text field ie. 1GB
I’ve just attached a 298Mb zip file to an e-mail. It takes a while to attach and then save to the server but otherwise no problem.
Don’t worry I didn’t actually send it to anyone, although it I did wonder for very small second how the servers would cope if I sent it to 6000+ users. But then I thought the servers would be fine its admin boys I need to worry about

New option in ND6: “Maximum size of request content”
Located In : Server Document → Internet Protocols → HTTP tab (near the bottom, on the right)
New Value : 0 (10,000 kilobytes is the default)
HTTP needs to be restarted.

Usually there should be no limit… except if the recipient has a limit in his/her server…
If your attachments types are easy to compress you can try compressing them before sending, so your server will be happier.
