If a search is performed on the All Documents view, is there a way to tell from what folder the results are found?

Depends upon the version of Lotus Notes Client (since you did not specify). In version 7 there is an added feature.

Here is how I do it., assuming your mail is in general read.

(1) When you find the document - mark it unread.

(2) Then when you exit the search you will see the document count on one of the folders will have gone up. You now know what folder it’s in.

In 7.0.2 at least there is a much better way of doing this - you right click on the email, then click Folder → Discover Folders. Can’t remember what version this appeared in, may be in 6.5.4 also?

Thanks for the responses. I’m currently on 6.5.4–looking to upgrade before too long–and it doesn’t have the ‘Discover Folders’ option.

I’ll try the method suggested by Stephen for now. But I will keep in mind the ‘Discover Folders’ option when we upgrade.
