Is there a way to figure out if Spell Check has modified anything

HI

Is there a way to figure out if the Spell Checker in notes Client has modifed any words.

My requirement is when a user clicks on a Action button on the document, the system should do a spell check, if any words where modifed, then after the spell check is completed the system should halt the execution and inform the user that he has modified the document. If no words were changed then the system will continue with the execution of the code written in the action button.

Is this possible in notes.

Here’s one approach. I could only get it to work using LotusScript, not Formula Language. If there is more than one field in the document to be checked, you’ll need to modify the script accordingly.

Sub Click(Source As Button)

Dim ws As New NotesUIWorkspace

Dim uidoc As NotesUIDocument

Dim temp1 As String

Dim temp2 As String

Set uidoc = ws.CurrentDocument

temp1 = uidoc.FieldGetText("<YourFieldHere>")

Call uidoc.SpellCheck

temp2 = uidoc.FieldGetText("<YourFieldHere>")

If temp1 <> temp2 Then Msgbox "The spell checker has changed text in the document"

End Sub

Thanks a lot. The solution has worked. Just one thing, can i use the same for a rich text field.

I don’t see why not, but I haven’t tested it. Couldn’t hurt to try, right?

Subject: Clarification

Just to clarify, I think it could be made to work with formula language, but not without some additional steps.
