Is there a way to automatically build an FTP link?

We just set up an FTP site and employees can place files out there for clients to retrieve. I would like a way for the employee to push a button and it builds the URL hotspot based on the file they placed out there instead of having them manually create it (which no one here will ever do).

Is this even possible?
