Is there a fix pack for Domino Server 7.0.2 Fix Pack 1 for Windows?

Has anyone tried installing Fix Pack 1 for Lotus Domino Server 7.0.2 for Windows 2003? When I try to run it, I get an error saying “This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”

We’re currently running 7.0.2 on Windows 2003 SP1.

We rolled it out on several Windows 2003 servers without a problem.

Funnily enough we got the same error with some other custom developed Domino DLL add-ins and we resolved it by getting hold of the MSVCR71.DLL file.

If you need the file email me using the email address on my profile.

Same problem here. Has anyone called Lotus about this?

Subject: msvcr71.dll can be found in Notes folder

I just did a search on my machine and found this file is already installed into the Notes R7 Client program folder. Have you searched on your machines for this file?

Can’t take credit for this, but will pass along…Find the dll on your system (in my case it was in d:\lotus\domino) and add that path to the system’s Path environment variable (Control Panel, System, Advanced, Environment Variables).

We had the same problem. I noticed that this happened only on some servers. Turns out, that this file (msvcr71.dll) can be found in three diferent locations:

C:\Lotus\Domino (or C:\Program Files\Lotus\Domino)

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322

C:\Windows\System32

We had this error message during the attempted installation of 7.0.2 FP1 only on the servers that were missing msvcr71.dll from C:\Windows\System32. I don’t know some servers had three copies of this file, and some only two.

After I copied this file form the other location to System32 folder, I was able to install FP1.

For the Domino install this is a path problem the file exists in the Domino program dir but the install does not find it
