Is it possible to get a popup notification for subscriptions

I have subscribed to a mail-in application (as outlined in Help) and can see new items by opening Headlines. However what would be preferable would be to be prompted that a new item is available just as when new mail is received. Is this possible?

Subject: enable check subscriptions

… in preferences on the basics tab. you won’t get a pop-up but you will get a notification in the status bar and you should hear a little pop noise.
