Is it possible to change the name of my mail.box to other name like Repository.nsf?I know I can have mail1.box, mail2.box but I doubt if they can be .nsf.

Can’t help but wonder why would you want to do that? mail.box is an internal system file. Why would you want to change? It’s like renaming asking to rename command.com to something else.

In fact I don’t need to change it, but I need to support writting on it and I need to know all possible ways of naming it although only few people will do it… I just need to know all possible names it can support.

Although sounds a bit dangerous: I’ve never been a big fan of manual or programmatic ways of creating documents right in the mail.box.
In order for the Router to recognize mail.box, it has to be called mail.box or mailX.box, where X is a sequential number, based on the number of mailboxes you have configured in your configuration document.
In the past I had found that even if you have mail1.box, mail2.box, etc., you can still just refer to it as mail.box and it will get you into mail1.box.

Question
On a Lotus Domino® server, when multiple mail boxes are enabled, they are titled mail1.box, mail2.box, and so on. The router only uses these mail boxes for routing messages. However, some third party applications require the existence of a “mail.box”. Is there a way to force Domino to use mail.box when multiple mail.boxes are enabled?
Answer
In order to force the router to use “mail.box”, add the following parameter to the notes.ini file: Mail_Enable_Mailbox_Compatibility=1
When set, this parameter keeps the “mail.box” file and still will create mail2.box, mail3.box, and so on.
