I ask this question because I plan to create a class to manager IT Users and in order to avoid creating views to search document’s user, I’d like to use the Search method in Notesdatabase.
Can you just tell me if you already experienced some trouble using this method?

Yes, I’ve always found it to be reliable. However, if you’re searching a big db for a small set of docs then it’s not the best performance-wise. See articles in Developer Network for that.

Agree with Rapheal , for big databases and for small no of docs, it just takes an “extra” time…

Just want to add, along with my agreement to the other comments, that there is a link in this forum (will have to search as I don’t remember where it’s located) to a test that was performed on performance searching for different amounts of data in various ways (db.search, ftsearch, getallbiykey, etc) to obtain a collection of documents.
