We have a problem opening attached docs on the server after replication from local db.CLIENT= Notes Rel 7.0 HF277 June 21, 2006
SERVER= Rel 701FP1 on AS400 V5R3. Upgraded from Dom 653
The problem has be reproduced as follow:
-
create a local db (e.g. JournalTEST.nsf from template Std7Journal.
-
create an excell spreadsheet (e.g. JournalTEST.xls)
-
create a doc in the DB and attach the spreadsheet.
-
save and close
-
make sure the attached doc can be edited locally
-
create a replica on the server
-
edit the attachment on the server (may work the first time!)
-
replicate back locally
-
edit the attachment locally and save/close
-
replicate change to the server
-
edit the attachment on the server
At this last step, each time the error pops up: “Invalid or nonexisting document: Could not save to file C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\notesEA312D\JournalTEST.xls”
The doc gets corrupted. It seems it cannot ‘disconnect’ from the local temporary file created at first. Even when Notes client closed and workstation rebooted: same error on server.
Actions done:
run ‘load fixup JournalTEST.nsf -F -O -C -Y’
run ‘load updall JournalTEST.nsf -R’
→ fixup shows corrupted doc by NoteID
→ updall runs fine
Because the application worked fine BEFORE upgrading the Domino server from v653 to v701FP1, I tried to rename .nsf files to .ns6 on both client and server, but fixup on .ns6 doesn’t fully work: it doesn’t show the corrupted doc on the server while it it still there (cannot open it on the server)
Anybody who has experienced the same problem with attachments in v7+ ?
