Invalid Note id

I have a Windows 2000 Server with Domino 6.5 installed. I launched Domino and it came up just fine. But when I click on nlnotes.exe I get “Invalid Note id” message then a “Unable to locate program” message. What is causing this? Both the Windows 2000 & Domino 6.5 are fresh installations and not upgrades. I reinstalled Domino 6.5 thinking that the first installation was corrupted, but I still get the same error messages.

Well, the “Invalid Note id” message finally went away (i guess rebooting the server several times did it), but I am still getting the “Unable to locate program” when I launch nlnotes.exe, what gives?

Why are you launching nlnotes.exe instead of notes.exe?

It sounds like a reinstall might help.

Is there a fix for this issue? Did I need to install the full client?
