Intranet User ID and Domino

We have a lotus notes database, which I can access just fine with my notes client. I can also access this same database with my Web browser.

I’m curious to know how this works…

When I use my browser, it prompts me for my Intranet User ID and Password. I can see that my Intranet User ID is stored in my Person document on the Domino NAB (as the Short name/UserID), but I’m adamant that my Intranet Password is not stored there.

How did Domino recognise my Intranet User ID and Password?

There is no intranet password, only internet password. You need this password when you login with internet browser.It will encrypted after you save the document.

They could have Directory Assistance configured to point to an LDAP directory that contains your intranet name and pw. That’s a trivial thing to do in Domino and one of the big benefits of our product. It’s flexible, flexible, flexible!! =)
