Internet site documents and mail relaying problem

I’ve been experimenting with setting up my server to receive mail and serve websites for a number of different domains. So I’ve created a few SMTP Inbound internet site documents and web documents.

The web sites are working fine

I’m having a problem with the SMTP Inbound settings. Mail is coming into the server as it should, but the server seems to think that it’s an attempt to relay to an external domain, so it refuses it.

I’m certain that I’ve missed something obvious, but I’m stumped. Anyone got an answer for me?

Hi

I have mine set for several sites and it works fine.

My guess is that the problem is that your DNS is not correctly setup. Make sure that the MX record is correct.

Got it.!

Jesper, you were partially right - the MX records weren’t set up correctly. But I also didn’t have a Global Domain document, which was what was causing the system to think that the domains were external, and therefore denying them as relay attempts.

All seems to be working perfectly now. Thanks!

I suspected it might be taht - I’m using a dynamic DNS system. (This is a home server, not a production one.)

Will check further and see what I can find out.
