In Notes 7, if a user who has write access to some fields in his person document clicks the “Enter Password” button to change his Internet Password, he is prompted for a new HTTP Password and the dialog box includes a prompt,
“Warning: This is not a prompt for your Notes password. If you have any concerns about supplying a password, contact your system administrator.”
In Notes 8.5, the warning is different:
“Warning: An application that is not part of the Notes and Domino product is prompting for a password. If your company has informed you that this application is in use then it is safe to…”
and the warning is cut off.
I’m guessing that the warning string for some other use has changed and it is affecting this dialog box. I only bring it up to call Lotus Development’s attention so they can fix it or at least change the size of the prompt to allow the entire warning to appear. This warning was brought to my attention by a new user who is obviously security conscious and had some concerns to its content.
