There appears to be an issue with the internet mail address field in the location document.
I use Notes as a pop3 client and when I send smtp mail it inserts my Notes user name in the return field instead of my internet address which it should get out of the internet mail address field in the location document.
This has allways worked in R5, R6, and R7, but as soon as I installed R8 my emails became un-returnable because they had the wrong address when receipients pressed reply.
I have copied over all relevant location, account, and connection documents from my R7 environment, but nothing seems to work.
Anyone else getting this problem with R8?

Subject: set modify flag
Have had that problem before too. Reason was: A process ist updating your location document to ensure consistancy of internet mail address with e.g. company policy …Solution: You can prevent that process from changing your location document:
Open location document in EDIT mode - select from menu Actions/Advanced/Set Flag (maybe the text is slightly different - Iam using a German client :-))
Good Luck
Subject: Still not working
Hi
Thanks for the feedback, but setting the flag has no affect at all on the problem.
When I send emails to an smtp account, when the receipient presses reply, it puts my notes address in the to field to send back to me, and of course this fails becasue it is not an appropriate smtp mail address.
By the way, I’m not using a server. I simply have Notes R5, R6, R7, R8 and R8.5 loaded on my laptop. with 2 Account documents (one for the smtp server and one for my pop3 account) and one connection document pointing at my ISP’s smtp server.
The problem only occurs when I used R8 or R8.5
Subject: Did you ever get it to work?
I encountered the same problem at a customer - if there’s no soluition they may need to roll back to R6/7
Subject: several users on the same location doc
What about there is several users working on the same names.nsf. Can I do this solution then?
