I have users who cannot receive internet email unless their internet address is the same as the last name in the Person document.
I’ve edited the Configuration document to use “Fullname only” and exhausitivie lookup set to “Enabled” but it still does not work.
I’ve also checked that the internet address shows up in the hidden “($Users)” view in the Domino Directory.
I know the internet address does not need to be the same as the last name for anyone to receive internet email, so I must have set some settings wrong somewhere.
Would appreciate any advice on how I can resolve this ?

Derrick,
There are a number of things you can look at. I’ll go through them one at a time.
Check the person doc. They should be able to receive mail by what’s listed in the internet address field, the short name field, and anything in the Username field.
On your config doc, turn off exhaustive lookup and set Fullname to Fullname then Local Part.
Make sure your global domain doc is set correctly for your domain.
You should be able to receive SMTP mail via a number of different names listed in your person doc. If this is not the case, email me and I’ll help off-line.

"They should be able to receive mail by what’s listed in the internet address field, the short name field, and anything in the Username field. "
But as he’s posted, Fullname only is in effect, so that’s not true.
My first question would be to clarify whether this problem exists when Address lookup is set to Fullname then local part. The posting implies it, but I wanted to be sure. The next this to ask is whether these users have a different internet domain in their email addresses than the rest of your employees, and if so, whether that domain is set in the Global Domain document (which falls under Gregory’s advice to set that doc correctly).
