Hello, I have a cascade names for a server front to internet.I need to some users have an alias internet mail but I have a restriction in the configuration document to accept only internet address and no accept any name combination .
How can I create an alias in the cascade names.nsf’s? Wich is the best way? I was try with group, and mailin database but… nothing
Subject: Internet address alias
Add aliases (Notes or internet) in either the fullname/username or shortname fields.
Subject: doesn’t work for my setup
Thank you, but alias in that field doesn’t work because I set in Router/SMTP - Basics tab:
Address lookup=Fullname only
exhaustive lookup=Enabled
I need that set up, but I need some aliases too.
What can I do?
Thank you again
Subject: yes, it does work; did you try it?
Subject: Yes, Bruce, I did, but…
please, read my 3th post.I must to have “FullName only” in my conf. doc.!!! But in some cases I need aliases

I read your third (second) post. It repeated what I read in your first post. And I repeat what I wrote in my first post: If you add internet addresses to the fullname or shortname fields, they will resolve for email address lookups, regardless of whether Address Lookup is set to Fullname Only or not. The fact that this is a secondary address book doesn’t matter; all that matters is that the desired addresses are indexed in this db’s ($Users) view.
Perhaps you misunderstood what I meant by internet address? I meant a full RFC821 address: localpart@domain. It’s not enough to put “gvillanueva” in there when Address Lookup is set to Fullname Only; you have to use “gvillanueva@company.com”.
I asked if you tried it, and you posted that you had. So are you saying that you added an RFC821-format internet address to a person document’s fullname or shortname field, waited for any necessary replication, directory catalog reaggregation, and view reindexing, and the address didn’t resolve?

Just a guess, but can you use mail-only groups in the NAB to create the aliasses. Don’t know how they are handled with the Fullname only option of the config doc.
