International Notes ID and Internet Certificates

Hello,

We have a domino organization that dates prior to 5.0.4. So all the ids are declared as international. Now the sistem was migrated to version 6.5.x and we want to integrate a Smart Card internet certificates solution. The problem, as we descovered, is that the ids that were declared prior to version 5.0.4 (98% of all) can not import the certificates stored into the smartcard. If the person ID is Nord American, the import and functions works great. The Internet key is of 1024 b.

Can any1 please tell me that i dont have to re declare all my users (500 users 10 servers) and there is another way to solve that. As you can imagine the server has emails, aplications and so on, and i cant just reinstall all the servers and reconfigure and redeploy all my users, as they are geografical spread.

I got this post, but there i can get any info that internet certificates import has problems

I’ve never heard about this problem before. What smartcards are you using, and what error are you receiving when you try to import the certificates from the smartcard into the international ID files?

After we integrated the smartcard with Lotus Notes, we traid to import the verisign certificate, no error, but if you look for it in the certificate list, its not there, if you try to import again, Lotus says that its already imported. If you try to send sign emails or smth you get weird signature. If we redeclare the user with Nord American id, then the problem solves. The certificate is there, the sign and encript is ok.

This is why we think that the problem is with the id files, witch were declared prior to version 5.0.4

Thanks for the info. I’ve created an SPR (DKEN6ASTSU: Smartcards: Cannot import certs into International IDs?) with the information from this thread, and will try to find out what is going wrong and where.

Im sorry but i really dont know what an SPR DKEN6ASTSU is, but if it can solve my problem then i vote for it. If you got any idee, please inform me liviu.dunaev@softnet.ro
