I’ve just upgraded from Notes 8.0.1 to Notes 8.5 Beta 2. For some reason I can no longer use the internal browser to access sites outside the corporate intranet.
The upgrade went pretty smoothly: uninstall 8.0.1, install 8.5, start 8.5, kill 8.5 after it becomes unresponsive, start 8.5 again and everything seems hunky-dory. Mail, calendar, widgets are all there, Sametime is working, activities come up etc.
At least, everything aside from the internal web-browser. Specifically, I can browse any intranet sites without a problem, but cannot access any internet sites.
When I open a browser tab/window I get the error “ACTION CANCELED [sic] - Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable.”
If I then type in any external address (e.g. news.bbc.co.uk or search.yahoo.com, I get the error "The page cannot be displayed -
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings. [Cannot find server or DNS Error]"
If I run Internet Explorer outside of notes from either the desktop shortcut, start menu or via “Start → Run → iexplore” I have no problems access any sites.
There are no proxy servers set-up in any of my Locations.
Any suggestions?
