Intermittent "file cannot be found"

Hi folks,

It happened several times that I had the message: “File filepath\filename cannot be found”.

The file exists…

This happened (not reproducable, but several times) in two cases:

  1. Trying to open database from workspace or from file open - dialog. I can select it from list, but when trying to open it I get above message. After that I looked in my filesystem (its a local database) and double clicked - same thing. I restarted Notes - same thing. Finally I opened it within Notes-Designer and THEN in Notes-Client - It worked.

  2. Trying to replicate with server: Right-click on replica on workspace - choose: Replication - replicate… I get above message. I try it again and it works. Interesting thing is: The message shows the wrong path to the database in this case, but I never moved it. The path is not a subdirectory of the Notes Data Directory.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Did I miss something big?

regards,

Manuel

Subject: Try to use a clean desktop8.ndk…

To narrow the issue, we could ensure if it caused by workspace(desktop8.ndk) corrupted. 1. Close Notes

  1. Rename(backup) the “desktop8.ndk” in the NOTESDATA folder

  2. Restart Notes(Notes will create a new and clean desktop8.ndk automatic)

And then check if the “file can not be found” issue is still reproducible.

Subject: Will do that…

I will do that, as soon as it happens again.

I was finally able to open the database by using the Notes-Designer. After several moments, the database opened and I was able to open it with the client afterwards.

I am sure it will happen again (as it happened twice until now). I will try your suggestion then and post a response.

Thx so far
