Out of Office agent works intermintently with a few of our users. It iwll send out the notice one time and then when they setup the next time it will not send out the notice. we have updated the templates and have even reinstalled the templates and restored the user. Thanks, for the help.

Are the users whose OoO agent is behaving strangely disabling the agent when they are back in the office? or are they leaving it enabled and then changing the dates? From what you have described, it sounds like the OoO agent is “remembering” the list of people it has already notified, and not notifying them again.

The OoO agent is being disabled after the return. Is there any way to clear that “remembering” issue if that is truely the case. Here is the exact message they get. "Welcome Back!
Please disable your Out of Office Agent. To disable the agent, Open your Out of Office profile and select the ‘Disable’ button.
While you were out, your Out of Office Agent did not notify anyone of your absence."
Even though they did recieve numerous emails from different individuals through out the time they where out of the office.

Based on the additional information you have provided, I think we can rule out my earlier hypothesis about the OoO agent never being disabled. You can use a tool like NotesPeek to examine the profile document (outofofficeprofile) to see who has been notified - the text list is stored in a field called ‘notified’. To answer your question, I don’t know of a simple way to do it but you might be able to write some code to clear this field.
Have you checked the server logs to verify that the agent is running on the user’s mail server?
If you select the agent in the Designer client, and choose Agent - Log from the menu, what is shown there?
