Insufficient system resources

Hello All,

We’ve upgraded most of our clients to 8.5 recently and since have been receiving the above error on quite a few of the clients. Has anyone else received anything like this.

I’m quite sure the problem is due to 8.5 as the problem only occurred after upgrade, It usually happens after a period of use so I think it has something to do with Notes using too much memory and not releasing any, I’ve checked out the following IBM doc:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=899&uid=swg21093511

This is for a Windows Server which we don’t use but would it also apply to the client? I’ve only just tried this on a few but am yet to see any result one way or the other.

Appreciate it if anyone could help in finding the problem so I can stop pulling my air out as it hurts.

Thanks

I’m assumming you hardware meets or exceeds the recommended system requirements

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=475&uid=swg27013074

Periodically as the Notes Client is running take an nsd e.g. Assuming Notes Program Directory is c:\notes from command prompt

c:\notes> nsd.exe

Depending on how long it takes before the Notes Client gives Insufficient Memory will determine how often to take an nsd…

Do it right after Notes Client Starts and then maybe hourly… Hopefully one is automatically taken when you run out of resources but not sure of that… Send all the nsds to Lotus Support and they can see if they can spot any memory leaks and will give you instructions based on what they see how to trouble shoot further if it’s something that has not already been reported and fixed.
