Insufficient Memory - BSAFE pool is full

Does anyone know what the message “Insufficient Memory - BSAFE pool is full” mean? Have several users on both Windows NT and Windows 2000 Terminal Server environment that are getting this message. Does not appear to be happening with any user in the desktop enviroment. So far it doesn’t seem to be causing any problems. We just don’t know why this is happening.

I am researching this error as we have it coming up on just a couple desktop systems. My research to this point is that BSAFE is an api type encryption utility from RSA. It can be added to applications such as the Notes client by third parties. As Lotus seems to be using it for some function in Notes I suspect that if you have another application with BSAFE functions in it and you are autostarting both than the initializations will trip over one another. While I haven’t identified the second application yet, or even confirmed this to be the problem my chief suspect is PK Ware as the PKZip for Windows uses the BSAFE tool for its encryption functions. If all who are having this problem look for applications other than the Notes client that can deal with encryption and use the BSAFE to do the encryption I think we’ll find the confilct in short order.

I will post more if I find anything.

Just FYI, I am getting this same message. No reports from other users, but they may be getting it and ignoring it. On this machine I have the Cisco VPN Client 3.6.3, and nothing else special that I recall. Also, we are currently having major resource problems on the server (not enough RAM.) So if nothing else, see if this might be a server resource issue for you.
