Instr issue, where am I wrong?

Can anyone please help me understand where I am wrong as I am getting “0” returned everytime?

whichone = “WordingPreliminary”

returnval = Instr(“pre”, Lcase(whichone))

and returnval is always “0”. Shouldn’t it be “8”?

your syntax is wrong, should be

whichone = “WordingPreliminary”

returnval = Instr(Lcase(whichone),“pre”)
