Instant Messages Blink, not Pop

On most PCs, when an instant message comes in, the IM window pops to the foreground. On others, it always Blinks in the taskbar, but the window does not come to the foreground.

We haven’t been able to eliminate the OS (it happens on Win2000 and WinXP), and also Notes client 6.5.1 as well as 6.5.2.

Any thoughts?

(We are using the default IM client that comes with 6.5.1, not the full SameTime client)

Not sure if this is the case, but for me only NEW IM’s pop up. If I’m chatting with someone and minimize the chat screen, the next message I get just flashes in the taskbar.

In our case, it doesn’t matter whether its new or a continuation. Neither of them are popping to the foreground.

While the settings can not be controlled using the integrated instant messaging client, what is set in your sametime client effects your integrated client. So, if you for example, use the java sametime client and deselect the “bring window to the front” then, this will change the behavior on your LIM too

My users will only ever use integrated Sametime client (6.51).

They do not have the standalone sametime client installed, so where would I set this “bring window to the front” setting?

Any help on this would be very welcome

We’re running 6.5.1, and I’ve got a user whose instant messages always appear behind, or in the back of, his Lotus Notes application. Did you ever find a fix?
