InstallShield - Single-file EXE?

Hi All,I do know how to create the Notes Client packages using InstallShield (OEM). However, it’s output is a 9 file package, all which are required for install.

Has anyone created a single executable that encompasses these files, which automatically extracts and runs the setup.exe. A bonus would be it deletes the temp install files after installation.

Please Note:

  • I tried the InstallShield ‘Package for the Web product’ (Free) However it deletes the files before completing the install, and the option to prevent this from occuring (sms) doesn’t seemt to work on the Lotus OEM version of Installshield.

  • I have searched this forum and didn’t find an answer, hence this post.

  • I’m trying to avoid purchasing additional software if it can be done with the tools provided by Lotus.

  • I’m upgrading 4.x users which is why I’m not using the smartupgrade database.

Thanks for any suggestions/solutions.

IBM uses Package for the Web to repackage the regular install as a webkits. I think the command line option you want to pass to setup.exe is /w. See this page for more info.

We do something like this - see www.mindvision.com

Or you can attach your files in a rich text field of a single NSF and extract them from there.
