Installing Notes domino in internation organization

Hi,

We are an international organization having around 180 offices world wide and I have the following questios pls :

  1. is there a world wide standar in installing email servers in country offices? I mean , when should I install a server in country office, is there a minumum # of staff to be there to have a local server installed?

  2. I’m looking for a benchmark showing the performance of lotus notes with diffrent platforms, like windows 2003,linux…?

  3. for country offices without local server, what is the best option for them to access their mail, we have now webmail but can we have an integration between Gmail for example with lotus domino?

If I remember correctly, Lotus Notes has webmail as well, allowing people to sign in with their Lotus Notes account. I don’t think an integration between Gmail and Notes is possible, I’m afraid, but I’m not by far an expert when it comes to Lotus Notes.What you need to do is to set up a test enviroment first, with several diffrent networks, and install the Domino server on each of them and Lotus Notes 8 on few computers to simulate diffrent offices and check if it will work out smoothly. I think you can tweak the installation quite a bit with some Lotus SDK.
