Installing Lostus Server in virtual machine with remote desktop

I installed a Lotus Server 7 in a Windows 2000 server but in a VMWare ESX virtual environment.

The Lotus Domino service was installed with a Windows Remote Desktop from my PC without problems but the service did not respond to the start.

In the Windows services shows the Lotus Domino Server in starting status and I cannot have a start service. I don’t have logs.

I try again with another virtual machine. I installed a Lotus Server 6.5 in a Windows 2003 server in anther VMWare ESX virtual environment.

I have the same problem, the service did not respond to the start. I started the service but stopped in two seconds.

It was possible to configure starting the service and the nserve.exe at the same time. I have configure it as a new server from an existing domine but it seems to be imposible to start the service. In the Windows services shows the Lotus Domino Server in starting status and I cannot have a start service.

Could anybody give me a recommendation?

Thanks

Not sure if this is your problem, but here’s a mistake I’ve made in the past…using remote desktop, you can’t see the Domino server console screen. To do that, you have to start remote desktop in console mode:

mstsc /v:servername /console

Then you can see the Domino console and respond to any prompts it might be giving you.
